The view from my attic window. First photograph by jack, second by me.
Glasgow at night.
SX 70 folding polaroid camera - PX 70 impossible project film.
It’s always tricky to get good results with this film as it has to be at the right temperature and in the dark etc when it develops. The viewfinder on my sx is not the most accurate and although when taking this photograph is appeared straight it is a little squint which annoys me but there you go.
Bangour village hospital
Bangour Village hospital
I visited Bangour Village Hospital near Edinburgh on Saturday - Bangour is 960 acres of land and includes over 4 miles of road. The hospital was originally opened to cope with wounded soldiers from the second world war, Bangour later became the forefront of psychiatric medicine and became a teaching ground for doctors and nurses. Accommodation for nurses was constructed so they could live and breathe their work. There are many stories about disappearance and ghost sightings even alien abductions in a nearby field since the closure of the hospital which was recently used as the set for the movie ‘The Jacket’. Several guards are on duty 24/7 around the village, although a few people walk their dogs there (I’m not sure why you would want to do that) it made me feel slightly uneasy and the fact that a thunderstorm hit the top of the hill while we were there well…
“It’s so easy it’s ridiculous. It’s so easy that I can’t even begin – I just don’t know where to start. After all, it’s just looking at things. We all do that. It’s simply a way of recording what you see – point the camera at it, and press a button. How hard is that? And what’s more, in this digital age, its free - doesn’t even cost you the price of film. It’s so simple and basic, it’s ridiculous.”
